The Simply Piano music event, returning for its second edition on September 27th, promises to be anything but simple, according to organiser Salim Kegodile of Boxyard Events. Taking place at the prestigious Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng, this year’s event is designed to offer a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Speaking in an interview, Kegodile emphasised the event’s commitment to excellence, highlighting that they aim to surpass the typical music event experience.

“As the organisers, we are committed to going above and beyond,” Kegodile stated.

“This means delivering top-quality production, a diverse and dynamic lineup of artists, and an overall atmosphere that will leave a lasting impression.”

A vibrant and electrifying performance is anticipated with a mix of leading Amapiano artists from South Africa and talented local artists from Botswana.

“Our aim is to set a new standard for music events in Botswana, offering an experience that is immersive, engaging, and memorable,” Kegodile said.

The lineup for this year’s event features prominent Amapiano artists from South Africa, including Mr. JazziQ, Leemckrazy, Thuli P, Justin99, and PCEE. Botswana will also be well represented by a vibrant roster of artists such as DJ Bunny, DJ KSB, SwagkidsDJs, LebGee, DJ Modric, and Casper the DJ. The event will be hosted by energetic MCs: MC Theo, MduthaParty, and T.H.A.B.O.

Kegodile highlighted that the aim of the Simply Piano music event is to bring together music lovers from different backgrounds to celebrate the vibrant and dynamic genres of Amapiano and local music.

“We want to create a platform that showcases both international and local talent, fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange,” he said.

“Additionally, we strive to elevate the local music scene by providing an opportunity for local artists to perform alongside renowned international acts. Ultimately, we want to offer an unparalleled music experience that resonates with our audience and puts Botswana on the map for top-tier music events.”

One of the highest priorities for the organisers is ensuring top-quality sound and stage production. “Ensuring top-quality sound and stage production is one of our highest priorities,” Kegodile emphasised.

“We have partnered with leading professionals in the industry to design and set up state-of-the-art sound and stage systems. Our goal is to provide crystal-clear audio and visually stunning stage effects that enhance the performances of our artists.”

The investment in the best equipment and technical expertise is aimed at delivering every beat and note with precision and impact. Kegodile explained, “This attention to detail will create an immersive environment where the audience can fully enjoy the music and performances.”

In addition to the artistic and technical aspects, the safety and security of attendees are paramount. Comprehensive security measures are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

“This will include coordinating with local law enforcement, hiring professional security personnel, and implementing crowd control strategies,” Kegodile noted.

“We will have security checks at entry points, clear signage, and emergency response plans in place. Additionally, we are working with medical teams to provide on-site first aid and assistance if needed. Our objective is to create a secure setting where attendees can focus on enjoying the music and the overall experience without any concerns.”

Meanwhile, the Simply Piano music event promises to be a landmark event in Botswana’s music scene, with an impressive lineup of artists, state-of-the-art production, and a strong focus on attendee safety. As Kegodile succinctly put it, “Our aim is to set a new standard for music events in Botswana, offering an experience that is immersive, engaging, and memorable.”
