  • Three days of epic skydiving above the ancient salt-lake, fun quad rides, music and more await visitors

In partnership with the Parachute Association of Botswana (PAB), Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) will hold this year’s Makgadikgadi Epic at Sua Pan in the world-renowned Makgadikgadi Salt Pans from 14 to 16 July 2023.

The crowd-pulling event will be hosted by BOTASH in collaboration with Sowa Town Council and Tutume District Council. The idea behind Makgadikgadi Epic is to promote adventure tourism and destination marketing over three days of epic skydiving above Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and other activities.

 Safari-chic

Styled “Safari-Chic,” the 2023 edition of the raw beauty and unique biodiversity of the place will be on show. The standard fare for which Makgadikgadi Epic has come to be known, viz tandem skydiving with professionals, fun quad rides, fun horse rides and a contemporary music festival will feature.

Events tourism is one of the initiatives undertaken by BTO to stimulate both local and international travel, encourage local participation and develop new tourism products for diversifying Botswana’s product offering from wildlife. The public will pay P100 per person to have access to the Lapa Recreational Area at Sowa Town Park for the duration of the event.
