Local citizen owned corporate governance and corporate secretarial consultancy, Wise Leadership Pty (Ltd) is set to host their inaugural corporate governance conference on the 19th to the 20th of October 2022 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, with a virtual option.

Under the theme “Corporate Governance in the 21st Century”, the consultancy has assembled a panel that is composed of industry leaders who will delve into a variety of topics that will help build expertise, connections, and continuous professional development.

Endorsed by the Good Governance Academy, a non-profit organisation that collaborates globally to share information on critical business issues as a public good, each conference participant will walk away with a certificate of attendance certified by the the Academy. These certificates are used by the Good Governance Academy support members for Continuing Professional Development / Education purposes – in the event a professional association is not an existing support member, the Good Governance Academy will endeavour to engage with the association for this purpose.

Speaking on the choice of topic for this year’s conference, Wise Leadership Managing Director Mpho Kgosietsile said, “We are thrilled to host our inaugural Corporate Governance Conference 2022, back off a successful virtual session held last year. This time we wish to meet in person, for an enhanced engagement and collaboration. The challenges facing corporate governance professionals have grown dramatically in the 21st century. From expectations for board engagement to cybersecurity, directors and management face a growing range of complex issues and demands from shareholders and stakeholders. Our objective is to facilitate a space for professionals to gain a wealth of insight and strategically map out ways they can mitigate corporate governance challenges.”

Wise Leadership is resolute in its commitment toward championing an accountable corporate culture. The conference boasts a diverse range of speakers including Professor Mervyn King, the Patron of the Good Governance Academy and former Chair of the King Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa. Co-editor of the ISO standard for the governance of Organizations and co-convenor of the Governance Maturity Working Group, Carolynn Chalmers and a renowned Corporate Governance professional and Judge for the Chartered Governance Institute Southern Africa (CGISA) Integrated Reporting Awards Claude Jr. Kamangirira. Wise Leadership Managing Director Mpho Kgosietsile will facilitate the two-day knowledge exchange.
