Berry Heart takes her creations to Swahili Fashion Week

She will have much to contribute to conversations and to show visitors to her pavilion, including eight ball gowns among which is a special one made from different African fabrics.

Businesswoman, fashionista and poetess Ketshepileone Motseonageng’s brand has attracted international attention.

Better known as Berry Heart, after less than a year in the fashion space, this irrepressible personage has been invited to showcase products of her eponymous fashion house Berry Heart Creations at the 14th edition of Swahili Fashion Week that is scheduled for 3 to 5 December in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Swahili Fashion Week is the biggest annual fashion event in all of East and Central Africa, providing a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili speaking countries and beyond to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with the international fashion industry and clientele.

The conduit of Made in Africa concept is aimed at emphasising to the region that fashion is an income generating industry. The presence of Berry Heart there and participation in the show means rubbing shoulders with some of Africa’s best in haute couture, many of whom are assertive about the place of the continent in the world. She too will have much to contribute to conversations and to show visitors to her pavilion, including eight ball gowns among which is a special one made of different African fabrics.

She says she has signed a five-year contract with Swahili Fashion Week and is looking forward to a transformational experience in East Africa in the course of that time. True to her big-hearted nature, she intends to invite other fashion designers to come along for the Dar-es-Salaam experience and what it can do for them from a business perspective.

The Berry Heart Creations store at Phakalane is one of Gaborone’s leading fashion venues that are changing the narrative of Botswana’s fashion industry and how passion can lead to the international stage.

Already known for her signature African print in her designs, Berry Heart says she will host a pop market for fashion lovers. At the launch earlier this year, she said creativity is a powerful force that can reduce youth unemployment even in the advent of COVID-19.
