Film and television superstar Connie Ferguson is set to visit Botswana on 14 May for a number of speaking and engagement efforts with stakeholders in the business and showbiz sector.

The multi-award winning actress and filmmaker will be addressing people along other invited guest speakers at Phakalane Golf Estate and speaking on the Business of Arts & Culture as a driver for economic growth, among other issues.

“Connie Ferguson will be in Botswana to meet and engage with players in the business and arts and entertainment sector as part of a drive to explore opportunities and development through showbusiness,” the organiser, Thapelo Monageng said. “We are looking forward to hosting Connie Ferguson and also host a meet and greet session with her fans in Botswana as a celebrated actress and businesswoman. The event is meant to also inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and find ways to promote arts and culture.”

The event is open for all men, women and business owners including aspirants in the industry. Connie Ferguson made her mark on the small screen as Karabo Moroka on the long-running South African soap, Generations and ascended up the ladder in showbiz and business, with a thriving business empire. She is also an author, speaker, producer and co-founder of production company Ferguson Films which she co-founded with her late husband Shona Ferguson. She is also a brand ambassador and endorsed various brands and also runs her fitness and lifestyle brand called IconniecFit, among various other ventures.

The arts and entertainment sector in Botswana is a key sector which can contribute to the economy when harnessed and promoted properly. The sector has seen significant growth over the years and Ferguson’s visit is a further endorsement of the viability of showbiz in the country and beyond. Tickets are available for sale going at P1000 which include lunch and a day filled with loads of activities.
