The 25 year old that hails from Seolwane in the outskirts of Tswapong, splurges nothing but the perfect look, from professional makeup to pedicures and hairstyling.  Tlhompho Molapisi has succeeded in building her brand and still on her way up the ladder.

“I am a beauty fanatic so that was enough activation energy,” she galvanised in an exclusive interview with Executive Life. “It has been a beautiful journey filled with a lot challenges, the industry is a bit saturated and profits keep fluctuating but all in all passion keeps me sane. The support is too much. I really appreciate my customers.” Looking the part should always be everyone’s priority list, of which she found fulfilment through enhancing people’s looks.

“I love beauty! Waking up at 3am to prepare for a wedding doesn’t bother me because it’s my passion. It completes me and I am very content and happy. I do makeup, hair and nails for different occasions. The likes of weddings, photo and video shoots, showers, corporate shoots and just express makeup for outings and dates,” she stated.

“What makes me unique is my authenticity to my brand and my customer service. I am more into after sale service, I ask for feedback on my service so that I render the best service in future. It gives my customers a sense of appreciation and I have noticed that they actually like it. Hence why I have managed to retain them and attract even more through recommendations.” It’s the fizzled faces of satisfactions that clients get that keeps her going, but above all the compliments she ever gets from men. Sometimes their little compliment cements her crafts, and gives her courage.

“I covered a wedding in Motokwe and Molepolole one day, and the groom was so impressed on the work I did on his wife. He actually asked if we offer such services where I get to glam his queen every day. That was priceless. Those words give me so much strength. You know men don’t really take this beauty enhancement stuff serious. So for that to come from a man was humbling!” she recalled. Dealing with different characters can be so overwhelming sometimes. Some may just delay payments, some would be indecisive, and sometimes elders just opt to give her stress.Of which she has decided to defy the odds nonetheless and take her far.

“Above everything, I would say passion and my personality has brought me this far. Iam proud of myself for having a personality that can interact with strangers easily and not making our encounter too professional. This made me befriend most of my customers,” she highlighted. One of the things that kept her business afloat is being able to evolve with the trends. “I have a great personality and I know how to take negative feedback without making a client uncomfortable,” she remarked.

“One last thing, the business is just about to bear its first born! Its own skin care rangesuitable for African skin and correct all the problems that we encounter especially women. Such as skin pigmentation caused by pregnancy, stretch marks, sunburn and many more! The products will be launched soon. 100% locally made and touched by my magic hands.”

First step to a healthy skin care!

For a healthy skin, hair and nails, she said it is important to keep them clean and fresh always. People should know what goes well with their skin and what doesn’t.

“I would advisepeople to enquire about their skin types and buy products for the particular skin they have instead of just getting anything they find on the shelves. This is to avoid getting reactions and blaming it on makeup artists,” she advised.  Regular skin exfoliation is essential if you are a frequent makeup user. “As for hair I would advice customers becauseI am more into wigs, to take their wigs to professionals for washing frequently to avoid a pungent smell,” she said.

“Ladies do nails that won’t compromise your hygiene, don’t be tempted to do long nails yet you know you can’t function in them! And also give your nails some time to breathe a little sometimes. A week of natural nails won’t hurt. One more thing ladies, makeup breeds bacteria so make sure that they don’t exceed its lifespan! Dispose all those that has reached its product life span.” “Failing to maintain hygiene will definitely breed bacteria. You only get one skin for a lifetime therefore don’t do anything to compromise its good state.”
