After recently pulling off a banger virtual gig dubbed Acoustic Show, songbird and radio presenter Samantha Mogwe will end the month of August with a stellar performance at Botswana Society for Jazz Education (BOSJE)  show styled “Her.”

Mogwe is a singer and songwriter who brings a fusion of neo soul and RnB to her music. The petite, ever-sizzling talent rose to fame after her song that featured Zeus called “Rendition.” After stealing many hearts with the piece, her fame and fan base grew and she commanded attention on the stage both at home and abroad.

Born to a Motswana father and a Zambian mother, Samantha Mogwe was drawn to poetry and the performing arts.

“I’ll be wrapping up Women’s Month with this show called ‘Her,’ which is brought to you by BOSJE, the Botswana Society for Jazz Education,” she said in an interview. “I’ll be performing alongside amazing women such as Abbey Sebaga and many others. It is going to be a whole big band experience, trumpets and all. See you there.”

BOSJE also recently announced this,  their first-ever music concert to commemorate Women’s Month, that is billed for 28 August 2021. The virtual concert aims to recognise and celebrate women in Botswana and to showcase inspiring contributions of female artists in the music industry.

The organisation’s Founding Director, Akhutleleng Mogami, explained: “As BOSJE, we are thrilled to host this amazing event to recognise women and the crucial role that they play in our society and industry as a whole. Through this initiative, we hope to tell ‘Her’ story through the arts and shine a spotlight on ‘Her’ talent and legacy in an effort to empower ‘Her’ and the young women that follow.”

This spectacular concert will feature performances by Botswana’s leading ladies in the music industry for an unforgettable experience. Artists on the line up include Jembesoul, Ms. Abbey, Filwe, Jonjobike, Sebaga and Chello as well as a special performance by the BOSJE band.

The ‘Her’ livestream concert will air exclusively on Facebook to empower Batswana female artists to make their mark in exciting and disruptive ways with a thrilling virtual experience.

“With all that is happening in the world right now, it is important to take a pause from the chaos and uplift people’s spirits with our talent,” said Mogami. “Through the power of music – a subject that is close to my heart – we really hope to make a difference not only by acknowledging the greatness that lies in women but also by giving a memorable experience for our viewers.”

Tickets for the “Her” concert are priced at P50 and can be purchased from the Botswana Society for Jazz Education through the following contacts: 72234740 or bosjebw@gmail.com.
