Upgrade of Miss Botswana’s wardrobe continues

After the standard of wardrobe Miss Botswana 2021/2022 raised questions the Miss Botswana Organisation got busy upgrading. However, always comely and confident, Palesa Molefe will keep her current designers but rope in others to help ensure that the wardrobe is fit for a queen.

During her reign as Miss Botswana, Oweditse Phirinyane had the best wardrobe that enjoyed rave reviews, thanks to the impressive sartorial standards of local designers who can match the best anywhere. It has always been a commitment of Miss Botswana organisers to work with local designers for the queen, and although things might have gone a bit south this time around, they see the COVID-19-induced postponement of the grand finale as a blessing in disguise because they are using the time to enhance Palesa’s sartorial elegance.

“Miss Botswana’s wardrobe is in production,” the Public Relations Officer of Miss Botswana Organisation, Boemo Nyadza, told Executive Life in an interview. “The pieces will be released alongside those we have been creating throughout Botswana. The original designers with whom we started are still on board, making clothes for her entire reign. Other designers have shown interest and we are in communication with them.” Meanwhile, Palesa is not losing a moment of preparation for Puerto Rico to compete with queens from all over the world to become the next Miss World. “She is in training on etiquette and public speaking and is going to the gym,” the PRO said. “We are in negotiations with stakeholders for her BWAP project and others that she is interested in.

“We also want to ensure that 30 young ladies become the best versions of themselves. We want to provide them with a marketing platform to showcase their projects and talents.”

Asked about how their journey so far after unearthing the jewel, Nyadza responded: “It has been an exciting journey. It was very challenging from the scouting to the crowning and to finally sending Palesa to Miss World. Working with Palesa has been amazing. She is an easy person to work with and she is determined and puts in the work because she also wants the best for the brand.”

She used the interview to appeal to Batswana to continue voting for Miss Botswana on Mobstar, and to keep praying and sending words of encouragement to her and the team behind her, as well as for more financial assistance. From Puerto Rico the Miss World Organisation has announced resuming dates for the Miss World Top 40 contest out which the Queen will emerge. “Congratulations to our Top 40 who are invited to return to San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 12th to continue their quest to be crowned the 70th Miss World,” the announcement said.

“Julia Morley and her Miss World team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the contestants from the 97 countries that have contributed so much to this year’s event. We are sad that you cannot all return for the finale, but we really hope that every country will join with us online on March 16th. (Details for these arrangements will follow).” They further announced that all 97 Miss World contestants will be featured in the broadcast of the 70th Miss World Finale.
