An analysis of 30 companies listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) has revealed significant weaknesses in their reporting on workforce development, inclusion, and employee well-being. The study by Risk Insights found that while gender-related metrics are relatively well-disclosed, deeper social indicators concerning the workforce remain poorly reported.
Using the Risk Insights ESG GPS framework, the assessment reviewed corporate disclosures across key areas, including training, inclusion, youth employment, human capital development, workplace safety, and labour relations. The findings indicate that human capital development and occupational health and safety are among the least-reported social indicators.
