Palesa Sealetsa is an experientialist who finds fulfillment in exploring the intricacies of holistic living. In an interview, Sealetsa explains how she embraces her individuality unapologetically and diligently walks the path she has set for herself.
Her goal is to foster a community of like-minded individuals who live in alignment with what brings them fulfillment, regardless of whether it makes sense to others. This mindset influences all aspects of who she is, including her professional endeavors. Her core values include love, adventure, and community, which also guide her career decisions.
While studying for her bachelor’s in media studies at the University of Botswana, Sealetsa was drawn to digital marketing thanks to one of her lecturers, Dr. Patience Mathambo, who taught public relations. She recalls that Dr. Mathambo made what initially seemed like a dull subject engaging and fun, igniting her interest in public relations.
During her third year at university, Sealetsa recognised that marketing was her true calling while working on a marketing module. Marketing, she realised, provided a platform that allowed her to explore and express her core values. Her interest in digital marketing further deepened during an internship at a marketing agency, where she noticed that many digital marketing strategies failed to drive significant behavioral change or align with her personal values. This experience inspired Sealetsa to focus on digital marketing as a tool to transform lives, reaching people globally and enhancing their lives in meaningful ways.
Sealetsa believes that the future of digital marketing is incredibly exciting due to the growing demand for authentic, relatable content. People, she says, want to see real, less performative individuals and businesses, and the sense of community is stronger than ever. She is thrilled to be part of an industry that prioritises authenticity and vulnerability.
Goal-setting is a key part of Sealetsa”s life. She loves to challenge herself, believing that life is more exciting when she steps out of her comfort zone. Her goal-setting process often starts with the question: “How can I top what I did before?”For her, it’s about finding the next big adventure. Sealetsa believes the goal of marketing is to attract and retain customers by delivering value, meeting their needs, and driving business growth.
To ensure marketing activities align with overall strategy, Palesa emphasises the importance of setting clear, measurable objectives that support business goals. She stresses the need for consistency in messaging across all channels and focusing on the target audience’s needs. Developing an integrated marketing plan, where all activities work cohesively, and regularly monitoring performance for adjustments is also critical to her strategy.
Sealetsa recalls one client who hosted an exclusive event with a selective guest list. During the online promotion, she noticed significant interest from people who were not invited but wanted to attend. This inspired her to adjust the digital marketing strategy, making the event more inclusive through online experiences.
Though Sealetsa hasn’t yet worked on blog posts, email newsletters, or landing pages, her expertise lies in social media content strategy and execution. She is also focused on website optimisation, content management, and analysing traffic to refine upcoming campaigns based on audience interests. Moreover, she assists companies in improving their internal digital communication processes by applying optimised marketing strategies, creating seamless digital experiences that foster better engagement, collaboration, and alignment across all organisational levels.
