Jack’s Camp, Botswana’s iconic luxury safari retreat in the Makgadikgadi Pans, has been named a Condé Nast Traveller Triple Crown property – a rare achievement placing it among the world’s best hotels.

The newly launched Triple Crown distinction is awarded only to properties that have secured all three of Condé Nast Traveller’s highest honours: the annual Hot List for best new hotels, the Gold List for editor favourites, and the Readers’ Choice, chosen by the publication’s global audience. Only the very best properties achieve this feat.

The brand-new Jack’s Camp pays homage to the property’s enduring 1940s campaign style and reopened in 2021 after a complete rebuild. The camp features nine guest tents – seven twins and two doubles – each designed as a stylish tented pavilion with hand-carved beds and sweeping views over the vast salt pans. Located in one of Africa’s most dramatic landscapes, the camp offers an authentic safari experience where the sky meets the endless white expanse of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

This latest accolade adds to Jack’s Camp’s decades of recognition. In 2009, the camp won four Good Safari Guide Awards at INDABA in Durban, including Best Safari Camp in Africa and Best Ecological Safari Camp. The Triple Crown is regarded as one of Condé Nast Traveller’s most prestigious honours, recognising sustained excellence in hospitality.

“It gives us enormous pride and joy to share the news that Jack’s Camp has been named a Condé Nast Traveller Triple Crown property,” said Natural Selection Travel, the camp’s operator.

The win places Botswana among an elite global group of destinations. Only a handful of properties worldwide have achieved the inaugural Triple Crown, including Peninsula Hotels in Bangkok, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Chicago.

Jack’s Camp’s Triple Crown cements its reputation as best-in-class, not just in Africa but globally. As Botswana’s tourism industry continues to grow, this achievement reinforces the country as a world-class safari destination and validates the camp’s 2021 rebuild.

For travellers seeking an unforgettable safari experience in one of the planet’s most remote and breathtaking landscapes, Jack’s Camp has now earned its place among the world’s finest.

Jack’s Camp is operated by Natural Selection Travel.
