Botswana is a country in possession of many cultural vats of wealth. While it might be first nature to cite song and dance as the entry points to culture, their predecessor remains a strong factor across industries in the commercialised world. Storytelling. 

From the oral traditions of our forebears to the contemporary exploits with the written word, storytelling continues to be a form that artists and their audiences return to for escape and expansion. The Gaborone Book Festival promises unmatched offering in this regard. 

Now celebrating five years of existence, the Gaborone Book Festival is the initiative of three sisters with a penchant for reading and education. Kenanao, Katlego and Keikantse Phele opted to bridge the literacy gap and create an avenue for Batswana of all ages and all interests to engage with the literary arts.
