There are many forms of storytelling available to humanity, each refined and celebrated across centuries and cultures. Through photography, Diablo Santana captures KATLEGO KOLANYANE-KESUPILE’s experience of a unique melting-pot live show in Gaborone.
In live theatre, directors often seek to capture moments through vignettes — frozen frames that heighten the audience’s experience of a performance. These images can etch themselves so deeply into the viewer’s memory that even if the title of the play fades, the image itself can instantly transport them back to the auditorium. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and Moratiwa Molema harnessed that ethos in her own distinctive way in staging “Notes ’n Strokes – Ditsala”, a collaborative live art production.
