BTC announced the 2nd annual BTC Digital Shift BW Enterprise Summit themed “Geared towards Inclusive & Disruptive Digital Solutions” to be held on the 21st and 22nd September 2022.

The Digital Shift BW Enterprise Summit is an interactive hybrid event aimed at sharing the wide range of possibilities available to all Batswana through digital transformation.

Giving welcome remarks, the BTC Chief Operations Officer Aldrin Sivako explained that BTC will use the platform to unpack advances in game changing technologies through visionary thought leadership, real world case studies and live engagement, with a broad cross section of experts from the technology, digital and innovation space. He stated that the Digital Shift BW Enterprise Summit will attract renowned national and international experts in the field and captains of the industry that will demonstrate their capabilities and readiness in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.

BTC Managing Director Anthony Masunga when delivering the overview of the summit, stated that the event will showcase various innovative digital solutions with the main aim of contributing towards building Botswana’s digital economy. He also spoke on how BTC is progressing in the space of the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) or digital transformation, stating that BTC’s digital strategy is pivotal in driving the national digital agenda, as outlined by the Government of Botswana’s reset agenda pillars, “we are committed to ensuring that we implement an efficient and impactful strategy that will transform the landscape of the country”.

Masunga outlined that BTC has been pivotal in the evolution of the telecommunications industry in Botswana. “Our contribution spans over 42 years of enabling Batswana to live connected. It is against this background that we continue to drive the national digital agenda through such platforms that are geared towards building and encouraging unconventional thinking, innovation, creative expression and digital readiness”, he said. Masunga concluded by thanking the media partners who attended the event for their support over the 42 years that BTC has been in existence. “We value the friendship we have had with the media community over the years and would like to thank you all for playing a very critical role in anchoring the BTC brand”, he said.
