Collection Africa (Pty) Ltd, a citizen owned debt collection company has praised its current database system as the most efficient. Developed in South Africa, the Excalibur debt recovery/ collection management system, currently used by leading debt recovery firm, Collection Africa, is hailed as the best software for managing debt and debt strategies.

In an interview with The Business Weekly & Review this week, Collection Africa’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) Victor Nkane said before transitioning to Excalibur, they initially used what he called System Recovery 5.

Nkane said, “the Excalibur system comes with options like ‘predictive dialler’, which allows you to call many customers at a time. It can also be set to attain certain objective during campaign,” he said. According to the COO, the system is cloud based and allows for data security and/ or safety. It is also easily accessible and it is conducive during this COVID-19 era where people need to access data from everywhere and not only at the office.

Nkane said the system is tailor-made and can be set to certain specifications. “It allows one to input whatever type of report they might want to access from the system,” he explained.

Although Collection Africa started using its latest system in 2019, the Chief Operations Officer noted that the previous one was not upgraded and did not allow them to host a pool of files. “You can tie the accounting system to the Excalibur,” he added. “This is a good system.” As stated by the COO, Collections Africa has well trained IT experts who are capacitated from time to time on the operations of the system. The Staff support the system.

Explaining it as a cost-effective system, the COO said; “there are plans to host (the software) internally on our servers as an advice from the developers.” Consequently, the company is of the view that it will manage to reduce costs while maximising returns.
