De Beers Group reaffirms its dedication to empowering emerging and independent jewelry designers and businesses. In this vein, the company has forged a partnership with MELEE The Show to bolster all showcases scheduled for 2024 in Tucson, Arizona, and New York, New York.
The collaboration with MELEE allows De Beers Group to provide continued support to emerging and independent jewelry designers and businesses.
De Beers Group is dedicated to educating designers on sustainable mining practices and providing them with valuable information on diamond supply chain transparency and ethical sourcing, including introductions to Wanetsha Mosinyi, De Beers Group’s Social Impact and Sustainability Manager, this month.
MELEE designers are driving change in the fine jewelry industry with their committed focus on delivering transparency in the supply chain, sustainability, and ethical jewelry practices.
“I am so pleased to travel from Botswana to share with American designers the story of how their gem quality natural diamonds are sourced. It is my hope that they feel proud of the part they play in the positive impact that natural diamonds make, directly contributing back to our communities, and that their customers feel proud to wear natural diamonds. In the end, these natural diamonds connect human beings on one end of the world, to the other,” said Mosinyi.
“Our partnership with De Beers Group is one of the great success stories at MELEE. With key players at De Beers Group, we can deliver better messaging and transparency on the diamond supply chain. We’ve been able to offer a platform for independent designers to connect with buyers in the US and internationally. We’ve partnered with a handful of sponsors since 2017, but we’ve seen a longstanding and successful partnership with De Beers since our inception,” added Rebecca Overmann and Lauren Wolf, Founders of MELEE The Show.
MELEE THE SHOW
Founded in 2017 by jewelry designers and friends Rebecca Overmann and Lauren Wolf, MELEE THE SHOW was born out of the need to connect designers and buyers in an environment as beautiful as the pieces on display. Fine jewelry was long overdue for its own place in the tradeshow world; one that could cater to the level of attention that both designers and buyers desired.
MELEE is a highly curated, personal trade show experience with yearly events in Tucson, NYC, and Paris. Inside is an intimate setting showcasing a carefully selected roster of fine jewelry designers with a focus on aesthetic and skill. The show is committed to staying small and selective to the industry’s top talent and leading brands. We believe this environment encourages designers and buyers to engage with each other over new collections in a meaningful way.
The Winter show in New York will feature several new designers including Anahita Guity Stein (Anahita), Anne Sportun, Catherine Sarr (Almasika), Christine Fail (Fail Jewelry), Elvira Cammarata and Valeria Picerno (Elva), Heather B. Moore, Jamie Joseph, Julie Bowen Hollander (Bowen NYC), Madison Snider (Fewer Finer), Mizuki Shinkai (Shinkai), Roy Krejberg (KUNDO JEWELS PARIS), Zoë Chicco, Herstory, Little Ones, ParkFord, and Talkative.
De Beers is the only global diamond luxury brand that starts at source. De Beers is committed to ensuring each diamond it discovers creates a lasting positive impact for the people and the place where it is found. This comes with a pledge to build a better future – one that is fairer, safer, cleaner and healthier, in which communities thrive, ethical practices are maintained, and the natural environment is protected. This long-term commitment is called Building Forever.
