Green Loop Environmental Consultants has established a platform called Sessions in the Loop for sharing knowledge in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESGs) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to the Sales and Marketing Manager of the company, Marea Chezuva, the lack of knowledge and awareness around these topics became clear during a recent session held in Gaborone a fortnight ago. She said the objective is to impart knowledge on how individuals and corporates can apply changes around ESG and SDGs.
“These changes have to do with conservation, sustainable packaging, as well creating a green circular economy,” she said. “By green circular economy, we mean how we can keep products in our economy and still make money off them.” Chezuva disclosed that Green Loop is also involved in green-rating buildings with a particular interest in the mining and construction industries.
“With Sessions in the Loop, we invite game changers across various sectors,” she said. “In the first one, we had Sandfire representing the mining industry. We also had Absa, RMB, and Collins and Chilisa, which is our main sponsor.” Chezuva said it is important to adhere to the environmental laws of Botswana and to work towards attainment of the UN SDGs. She disclosed that Sessions in the Loop will be held monthly in a bid to share knowledge in ESGs and SDGs.
