Legal Guard Insurance is on a mission to empower small enterprises across the country on tax through Kgwebo Guard, a flagship product of the legal insurer. The first virtual training was held in Gaborone this past week.
“Having an understanding of tax law is essential to being an effective business owner. Taxes have a major impact on the finances of individuals, families, and businesses. As such, business owners must know how tax rules will impact their companies or clients, and how to work within those laws for the best benefit,” said Legal Guard General Kgomotso Ratlhaga.
The tax seminar focused on several issues such as the tax changes, the developments it comes with and other income changes. The legal insurance company saw it vital to curate these seminars after the Increase of the Value Added Tax (VAT) standard rate from 12 percent to 14 percent effective 1 April 2021. The first seminar was attended by several business owners in different industries.
“The tax seminar is one of many value propositions that Legal guard clients will enjoy through its SMME legal expenses solution Kgwebo Guard. Through such seminars clients will be able to interpret regulation and legislation which is enable them to optimize profitability and minimize losses due to lack of understanding,” added Ratlhaga.”
The Legal Guard Tax seminar was conducted by the legal insurance company experts including tax expert Jonathan Hore who was the Keynote speaker. For the past years, Legal Guard has taken a key interest in ensuring that business owners especially small businesses are equipped with all the legal knowledge they need in operating their respective businesses.
