The Office of the Ombudsman is pleased to inform members of the public that the Second International Ombud Expo will be held in Gaborone, Botswana from 29th July to 2nd August 2024.
International Ombud Expo (IOE 2024) will bring together overย 500ย ombud offices, human rights bodies, grievance handlers, integrity organisations, and related oversight and governance institutions from over 100 countries.
Building on the exceptional success of the inaugural event and subsequent United Nations General Assembly Resolution 75/186 of December 2020, these institutions will participate in an exhibition and showcasing of their role, operation, and performance impact. They will be joined by a wide range of service providers, professional bodies, and non- governmental organisations, which support and facilitate them in making a difference in governments and organisations across the world.
IOE 2024 will be a treasure-house of ideas, lessons,ย and best practices. It will offer policy makers, practitioners, and scholars a rare and unique opportunity to experience at first-hand the array of approaches on offer for tackling ever-pressing challenges of ensuring effective oversight and regulation, righting injustices, and securing quality and sustainable performance. Exhibitors and participants will share lessons and experiences, network with counterparts, and develop and enrich their operational capabilities.
