Access Bank Botswana has been named Botswana’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility at the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, in recognition of its commitment to community development, financial inclusion and sustainable banking.
The award acknowledges the bank’s efforts to improve lives through initiatives focused on education, healthcare, environmental sustainability and employee volunteerism. Over the past year, Access Bank Botswana has rolled out several community programmes, including financial literacy campaigns, school support projects, health initiatives and environmental clean-up activities.
One of its biggest interventions was a P250,000 contribution towards national disaster recovery efforts following heavy rainfall, providing assistance to about 10,000 people across Botswana. Employees also took part in World Cleanup Day activities alongside local councils and supported schools, healthcare facilities and community organisations. In addition, the bank partnered with the Botswana National Blood Transfusion Service to organise blood donation drives that collected 63 units of blood.
Access Bank Botswana Managing Director Sheperd Aisam said the award reflects the bank’s commitment to creating meaningful and lasting impact in the communities it serves.
“Being recognised by Euromoney as Botswana’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility is a proud moment for our employees and stakeholders. More importantly, it is recognition we share with every Motswana who has trusted us, worked with us and welcomed us into their community,” he said.
Aisam said the recognition also belongs to employees who have volunteered their time and skills to support community projects across the country.
“This award belongs in a very real way to our employees. Their commitment has turned our corporate responsibility ambitions into practical action. This recognition is not the end of the journey but a reminder that we must continue making a positive difference,” he added.
The award strengthens Access Bank Botswana’s commitment to community development, environmental sustainability, financial inclusion and employee engagement.
