Access Bank’s entry into Botswana is in line with its expansion drive across the African continent and its strategy to be the continent’s financial gateway to the world. The Bank has over the years continued to cement its presence in African markets and beyond. The financial powerhouse’s operations currently span three continents, 12 countries with Botswana being among its newest additions, and over 42 million customers.

Guided by its rapid expansion drive and consequent customer base growth, Access Bank is promising customers in Botswana a unique banking experience providing more opportunities, more benefits, more products, and an even stronger and faster digital banking platform for customers.

Commenting on the rebrand, Kgotso Bannalotlhe, Managing Director, Access Bank Botswana said: “Access Bank is a customer-centric institution and as such, we will provide our wholesale, corporate and retail customers with competitive financial products, efficient digital banking/financial solutions and an unrivalled customer experience. Our customers will have the unique advantage of tapping into our extensive global network that brings about numerous business opportunities and endless possibilities for business growth.

“Also at the heart of our brand promise is ensuring that our operations deliver sustainable economic growth that is profitable, environmentally responsible, and socially relevant. We are also committed to supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and fostering financial inclusion and deepening which will, in turn, promote development of the country.”

Group Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe described Access Bank’s entry into Botswana as strategic to the bank’s vision.

“Our entry into Botswana is more than a business expansion move, it is a recognition of the significance of Botswana to our vision of becoming the World’s Most Respected African Bank. The special status which Botswana has within the continent and the sub-region of South Africa as one of Africa’s most stable and burgeoning economies cannot be contested. We are therefore really excited about this warm reception and we are confident that this entry will be of immense benefit to the Botswana economy and will propel our institution towards realizing its vision,” Dr. Wigwe noted.
