FSG Limited contributed P25,000 towards the BDF Half Marathon, held on 29 August 2026, as part of its continued investment in initiatives that promote physical activity, healthier lifestyles and community wellbeing.

By supporting the BDF Half Marathon, FSG contributed to an event that brought people together through sport and encouraged participation in an activity centred on health and wellbeing. The marathon gave people of different ages and backgrounds an opportunity to be active, challenge themselves and connect with others, reinforcing the importance of making physical activity part of everyday life.

The sponsorship builds on FSG’s previous involvement in sporting activities. In 2025, the company was the official sponsor of the Junior Female Athlete of the Year and Junior Male Athlete of the Year categories at the 44th Botswana Sport Awards, recognising young athletes and their achievements in sport.

This continued support reflects FSG’s interest in initiatives that promote health and wellness while creating opportunities for communities to participate and connect. For the company, sport provides a practical platform through which it can contribute to wellbeing beyond its core business and support activities that have a positive impact on people’s everyday lives.

Speaking on the sponsorship, Fergus Ferguson, Group Chief Executive Officer at FSG Limited, said the company’s support for sport forms part of its broader approach to contributing to community wellbeing. “For us, supporting wellbeing means looking beyond a single event and recognising the different ways in which we can contribute to healthier communities. Sport is one of those ways. It gives people an opportunity to be active, connect with others and challenge themselves, and we were pleased to support an event that created that opportunity.”

The BDF Half Marathon brought together participants around a shared commitment to physical activity, creating a space for individuals, families and communities to take part in an activity that supports healthier lifestyles.

For FSG, supporting the marathon was about more than contributing to a single sporting event. It forms part of the company’s continued interest in initiatives that encourage people to take an active role in their health and wellbeing. Its support of the Botswana Sport Awards in 2025 and the BDF Half Marathon in 2026 demonstrates this ongoing commitment to using community investment to support activities that promote participation, health and wellness.

“This is not where our support for health and wellness ends. We continue to look for opportunities where our contribution can make a meaningful difference, whether through sport or other initiatives that promote healthier and more active communities. What is important for us is to keep building on the work we have started and to identify where we can make the greatest impact next,” said Ferguson.

The value of FSG’s community investment lies in being intentional about where its support can make a difference. The BDF Half Marathon was one such opportunity, bringing people together around a shared experience while creating a platform for participation and personal achievement.
