Botswana’s growing demand for accessible, reliable and patient-centred healthcare has received a boost following the official opening of Haven City Medical Clinic in Bontleng, Gaborone.
The newly launched private medical facility officially opened its doors on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, positioning itself as a modern healthcare provider offering a wide range of medical services delivered by trusted medical practitioners.
Haven City Medical Clinic provides general medical consultations, chronic disease care, child and adolescent health services, women’s and men’s health, laboratory services, minor procedures, specialist referrals as well as occupational and corporate health services.
Founder Dr Naomi Garenne said the vision behind the clinic was to establish a professional medical facility focused on quality healthcare delivery, trust and patient satisfaction, while also contributing towards strengthening Botswana’s healthcare sector.
“We established Haven City Medical Clinic to provide professional, reliable and accessible healthcare services delivered by trusted medical practitioners. Patients want confidence in the medical care they receive, and that is the standard we are committed to maintaining,” said Dr Garenne.
As part of its official opening activities, the clinic offered free consultations, health screenings and health education sessions, attracting strong public response and patient turnout during the launch.
Dr Garenne said the initiative formed part of the clinic’s commitment to giving back and improving access to healthcare services.
“The response we received during the opening showed the importance of accessible healthcare services. Offering free consultations and screenings was our way of giving back while also encouraging people to prioritise their health and wellness,” she said.
The clinic officially introduced reduced consultation fees for cash-paying patients running from 29 April until 15 May 2026 as part of its launch campaign.
Dr Garenne said Haven City Medical Clinic aims to distinguish itself through professionalism, compassion and patient-centred care.
“At Haven City Medical Clinic, empathy is our brand and excellence is our standard. We believe quality healthcare is not only about treatment, but also about how patients are received, listened to and cared for throughout their medical journey,” she said.
The opening of Haven City Medical Clinic comes at a time when Botswana’s healthcare sector continues to face growing pressure, including increasing patient volumes, demand for quality care and the need for more accessible healthcare services.
Dr Garenne said private healthcare institutions also have a responsibility to contribute positively towards improving the country’s healthcare landscape.
“As healthcare professionals, we cannot ignore the challenges facing the health sector. Haven City Medical Clinic was established not only to provide quality healthcare services, but also to contribute towards improving healthcare standards, accessibility and patient experience within Botswana,” she said.
The clinic operates from Monday to Friday between 0700hrs and 1700hrs, while Saturday consultations run from 0800hrs to 1300hrs.
With its modern positioning, broad service offering and emphasis on trusted healthcare professionals, Haven City Medical Clinic enters the private healthcare sector aiming to establish itself as a credible and dependable medical institution in Gaborone.
