Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) is not contemplating exiting from Letshego Holdings Limited, the CEO of Botswana’s leading insurance group, Catherine Lesetedi, has said.

She was responding to a question during a Q&A session at the end of the insurer’s results presentation for the half-year ended June 2022 this week.

Letshego is operating in a high interest rates environment and a concern by analysts is that the pressure on its margins will persist, potentially dragging down fair value.

Earlier in the week, Letshego had disclosed that a hawkish environment has impeded profitability trajectory. This is especially because the company said it does not immediately pass on cost of funding to its customers.
