Traditional leaders representing eight communities in Bobirwa District have commended Lotsane Safaris for its community support, including donations towards Botswana’s Independence Day celebrations.
In a letter dated October 12, 2026, issued through the Mmadinare Customary Court, Kgosi Mphoeng Mphoeng conveyed appreciation on behalf of leaders from Mabolwe, Semolale, Gobojango, Lepokole, Mothabaneng, Lentswe le Moriti, Mathathane and Mmadinare.
Lotsane Safaris donated six impalas, 600kg of chicken and 600kg of maize meal to support celebrations across the participating communities. The leaders said they valued the company’s generosity, cooperation and continued support.
The company has also supported local schools with internet connectivity, assisted educational institutions and supplied food and essential items to frontline teams during the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak.
The recognition comes ahead of a planned 15-year partnership between Lotsane Safaris and four Community Trusts associated with Controlled Hunting Area CT27, scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027.
The partnership is expected to link wildlife conservation with community participation, local employment, skills development, infrastructure improvements and economic opportunities. Proposed initiatives include anti-poaching programmes, hospitality and conservation training, and opportunities for local suppliers. Implementation will depend on government approvals, regulatory requirements and operational planning.
Lotsane Safaris managing director Carl Knight said the company was grateful for the goodwill shown by traditional leaders and communities, adding that it looked forward to continued cooperation and shared opportunities.
The CT27 partnership is expected to provide a framework for collaboration between the company, traditional leadership, Community Trusts and residents, with conservation and tourism identified as potential contributors to the region’s long-term development.
