All across the world, there are commemorative and celebratory days and events throughout the year dedicated to disambiguating what it means to be a part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex (LGBTQI+) community.
These days have been established over time from within the collectives of people who are otherwise considered minorities. What they show, however, is that being subjected to marginalisation isn’t enough to kill the spirit of resilience and self-celebration. Gaborone recently played host to one such event in the form of the 2022 Gaborone Pride.
