Informed by feedback from clients and identifying existing gaps, Absa Bank Botswana has collaborated with SCI Wealth, a financial planning and investment advisory firm, to bring financial security and stability to its clients through fiduciary services.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Valeta Mthimkhulu, Retail Director, Absa Bank Botswana, said the bank is committed to finding purposeful solutions that better the lives of its customers by being deliberate in seeking new ways to add value to its customers.

Mthimkulu added that the business’s new fiduciary service gives customers a secure option to handle their wills and trusts, noting that these services will be able to provide Batswana with direction and peace of mind as Absa continues to put the long-term financial security of its clients first. “As Absa Bank Botswana, we strive to fulfil our promise of helping our customers find ways to get things done,” she said. “We are always looking to provide new value proposition for our clients as we continue to advance together. “As part of our long-term commitment to our engagement with Batswana, we made a lifelong promise to provide customers with financial security and stability.”

Giving an overview of the value proposition of the partnership, the Wealth Managing Director of CSI, James Fern, said Batswana were more financially sophisticated, hence the solutions offered under the partnership will target addressing the needs of emerging affluence and affluent customers and will be centred on wealth creation and preservation.

Fern noted that the partnership will focus on the areas of will drafting, trusts and estate planning, retirement planning, investment advice and holistic financial planning all accessed through an Absa relationship manager. Also speaking at the launch, Absa’s Head of Affluent Banking, Goitsemang Mantswe, said the bank is committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure that its customers across Africa have the best services and products.

“I would like to reiterate that as a purpose-led organisation, we are committed to finding tailored solutions to uniquely local challenges and remain focused on creating value for our stakeholders,” she asserted. “We believe everyone should have access to the transformative power of financial services to help them plan, dream and aspire to change their lives for the better.” Mantswe stated that partnerships such as Absa’s with SCI Wealth demonstrate the bank’s commitment to create long lasting solutions that will benefit generations.

SCI Wealth is a Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) registered investment advisory firm that has been providing independent, qualified financial planning advice on savings, investment, pensions, as well as wills and trusts since 2002. Absa Bank Botswana Limited is listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) and is a subsidiary of one of Africa’s largest diversified financial services groups providing an integrated set of products and services across personal and business banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth and investment management, and insurance.
