Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) and the Botswana Football Association (BFA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish closer working relations to promote Botswana through football.

Objectives of the MoU amongst others includes; undertaking of mutually beneficial initiatives to instil a sense of Pride amongst Batswana through football, as well as to use football as a vehicle to promote and position Botswana globally. The MOU shall be in effect for a period of 24 months from July 2022 to June 2024.

BITC says it appreciates the impact of sport, especially football in promoting Botswana, and the Memorandum of Understanding will facilitate a collaborative partnership between Brand Botswana and the Botswana Football Association for mutually beneficial undertakings to promote the Nation Brand through football. BITC is the country’s apex trade and investment agency and also manages the nation brand. BITC, through the Brand Botswana portfolio and as the custodian of the country Nation Brand, continuously collaborates with different stakeholders to undertake initiatives that promote a sense of Pride amongst Batswana and promotes and positions Botswana favourably globally, and football is one such vehicle.
