Boitekanelo College yesterday celebrated its ISO 9001:2015 recertification by the Botswana Bureau of Standards as the institution marked 19 years since it was founded.
Speaking during the ceremony, founder and president Dr Tiro Mampane said the college still operated with a “day one mindset” despite nearly two decades of growth.
“The excitement is still there, the hunger is still there and the dream still feels fresh,” he said.
Dr Mampane said the college remained focused on improving healthcare education and expanding beyond Botswana into South Africa and Kenya. He added that the institution was also pursuing plans to become a specialised university of health sciences.
He further revealed plans for a medical research hub in Kasane under the Botswana Economic Transformation Programme, which will include a private hospital, rehabilitation centre and simulation labs.
Acting Director Commercial Enterprise at Botswana Bureau of Standards Tebogo Kajane said the recertification shows the college’s continued commitment to quality management systems and service delivery.
Minister of Higher Education Prince Maele described the recertification as a “badge of trust”, saying quality in education “is not a one-time event” but a culture that must be maintained daily.
