Botswana Life Insurance Limited has partnered with Emergency Assist 991 (EA991) to provide Batswana with comprehensive 24-hour emergency medical rescue service that will include emergency medical evacuation cover. Launched on the 5th of July 2022, this Emergency Assist product is set offer customers medical emergency services in all countries of the SADC region.
Priscillah Ndadi, Botswana Life Chief Operations Officer said “in recent years, there are many challenges we overcome as a Nation, however, we have certainly many challenges still to come on the horizon, due to the health and socioeconomic effects of the pandemic as well as global unrest”. As a corporate citizen, therefore, she said “we are committed to finding and providing purposeful and relevant solutions dedicated to improving the lives of our customers”.
Botswana Life will be responsible for distributing this product and carrying out the necessary administration services. This cover will entitle the policyholders and their dependents to several benefits and services, inclusive of but not limited to;
- Emergency medical response by road or air to scene of medical emergency
- Transfer of patient to most appropriate medical facility
- Inter-hospital transfer by air or road,
- Emergency telephonic medical advice and information
To access the benefits of EA991, the policyholder calls 991 to make a claim, and Emergency Assist 991 will dispatch the most appropriate emergency medical assistance. “Forming this partnership came naturally to us, as both Botswana Life and Emergency Assist 991 have a common interest of being of service to Batswana and being able to be of assistance to them even beyond our borders.
