Adding to a bevy of accolades this 2023 show season, Bushra Stud has another collection of coveted medals and trophies to add to its growing collection after a phenomenal showing at this year’s National Agricultural Show in Sebele.
Bushra reaffirmed its status as a true breeder of Champions in taking home the most sought-after titles on Show for goats classes, being Grand Champion of the Yard, Reserve Grand Champion of the Yard, Breeder of Champions and Breeder with the Most Points.
Bushra Stud has also won Junior Champion Buck, Reserve Junior Champion Buck, Senior Champion Buck, Reserve Senior Champion Buck, Junior Champion Doe, Reserve Junior Champion Doe, Senior Champion Doe, and Reserve Senior Champion Doe and also the Champion Slaughter Goat on show. This saw a total of 30 accolades earned, and the 7th consecutive year in which Bushra Stud dominated at the Show to take home the Grand Champion title.
“The quality of animals on show this year was superb, and we were truly in incredible company. Competition was stiff, camaraderie was high, and the standard to match or beat was higher than ever before. The judges truly had their work cut out for them this year. It was a thrilling challenge, and we are happy with our performance. Beyond the success and accolades, however, we are incredibly pleased with the entire set up and experience of this year’s National Show. The determined efforts of the Show Committee are truly a marvel to see come to fruition. The agriculture industry – and certainly smallstock – is not playing in the amateur leagues anymore!” said Faheem Kala of Bushra Stud.
Bushra has won the 3 main Grand Championships to date in the 2023 show season, including Grand Champion of the Yard at the Ghanzi Show and the Grand Champion of the Yard, Breeder of Champions, and 4 other Champions at the Voorslag Boteti Agric Show in Letlhakane.
“We are now preparing for our auction period, partnering with fellow breeders for the Platinum Genetics Sale on the 2nd of September, bringing to auction only the finest Boer Goats and Kalahari Reds with OGS Farming, Khumo Boer Goats, Thabong Farms, TerryMo Farms, and ONLC Boer Goat Stud. This is one not to miss! After thus will be the Trifecta Elite Smallstock Sale on the 18th of November, also in Gaborone, as we close the year out celebrating local smallstock excellence!” Kala concluded.
