Debswana Diamond Company says it will participate and sponsor the ongoing Africa Mining Summit
taking place from 21 – 23 September 2022 in Gaborone, Botswana. The Summit seeks to address and
find solutions for Africa’s ongoing mining and mineral resource development efforts. Debswana has
sponsored the 2022 Africa Mining Summit with P 300 000.
Debswana says its participation at the Africa Mining Summit reaffirms its support for collaboration and
collective progress for the mining industry. Debswana senior leadership team members from the Technical
Services and Supply Chain divisions will present on various forums at the Summit. Head of Digital and
Automation Kabo Phetlhu will represent Debswana in a panel discussion on Mining Innovation, and
Debswana Maintenance and Reliability Engineer Keene Nkoane will take part in a panel discussion titled,
“Female business leaders and the Bottom Line,” whilst Debswana Supply Chain Lead, Phillip Lisindi will
feature in a “Fireside Chat” interview by Dr Ayanda Nteta (Director at Pula Research and Consulting) on
the topic of Supply Chain and Logistics.
Debswana’s Head of Technical Services Bakani Motlhabani will on Wednesday evening host the Summit delegates in a cultural dinner fully sponsored by Debswana. He will deliver a welcome speech and further reaffirm Debswana’s commitment to the progression and promotion of Mining in the African continent. The two-day conference, which will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions on issues affecting the continent’s mining and minerals industry, will also culminate in a charity Golf Tournament on Friday 23rd where Debswana Golfers will participate
