The Bank partnered with the Botswana and Investment Trade Centre, which has been showcasing Botswana at the Expo since October 2021, to host the Botswana National Day on 13 March 2022, and the Investment and Trade Conference on 14 March 2022.
Held under the theme, ‘Sustained Growth Through Inclusive and Innovative Investments, these events were headlined by President Mokgweetsi Masisi and expected to sell Botswana’s total value proposition and position the country as a gateway into Africa for investments. FNBB CEO, Steven Bogatsu said: “FNBB recognises the economic value that could emanate from this Expo and joins the BITC in solidarity to market the country and attract long term investors for the betterment of the county and its people. As the private sector we value such partnerships, and believe they are the conduit to robust economic diversification and sustainability of the country.”
Bogatsu was speaking at the Botswana Investment and Trade Conference on the 14th of March 2022. “I am honoured to be part of the panel discussion at the Botswana Investment and Trade conference themed; ‘Leveraging Botswana’s Financial Services Sector for Inclusive Growth’, where I will share insights on the bank’s experience in operating in Botswana, what the future looks like for FNBB and how the bank responds to emerging challenges and opportunities such as fintech, bitcoins, banking the unbanked as well as mobile money,” said Bogatsu.

He further stated that FNBB’s participation at the Expo is also aimed at promoting FNBB as the financial provider of choice to potential investors who may wish to invest in Botswana considering the Bank’s forward-thinking approach to technology and innovation. The Bank’s investment into its platform solution continues, with the goal of bringing in efficiency and improved customer and employee experience. FNBB optimises its operational processes through embedding technology and automation for a digitally driven future. With over 190 countries participating at the Expo, this provides FNBB an opportunity to support government as it interacts with the global community and build sustainable relationships to demonstrate that Botswana is indeed open for business.
