Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) is facing mounting criticism from citizen contractors over contracts worth millions of pula that are allegedly being awarded predominantly to South African–owned companies at the expense of local firms, despite the latter being fully qualified and capable.
The Business Weekly & Review has learned that the services in question include Condition Monitoring Engineering Services such as laser alignment, dynamic balancing, and vibration analysis — highly specialised and essential for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of power generation infrastructure.
