Kgori Capital has announced the appointment of Sharifa Noor as the new Managing Director, effective 1 July 2023.

The company says this appointment signifies a pivotal moment for the organisation as it continues to drive its strategic objectives and uphold commitment to clients and stakeholders. Established in 2012, Kgori Capital is a local asset management company, wholly owned and operated by Batswana. The company provides investment solutions to a diverse clientele, including pension funds, corporates, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and individuals.

The appointment of Noor comes at a time the company says business is on an impressive growth trajectory. In 2018, Kgori Capital announced the launch of its unit trust products, which has been a strong driver of growth for the company as well as a significant step towards financial inclusion, for the country. Additionally, the year 2022 marked the company’s tenth anniversary of doing business in Botswana. The Board expressed full confidence in Noor’s leadership skills, deep and broad industry knowledge, as well as her unwavering dedication to Kgori’s values. Noor holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of South Africa and has served as the firm’s founding Chief Operations Officer since inception as well as serving on the board as an executive director.

Prior to co-founding Kgori, Noor held several senior positions in the investment management industry. Noor has been instrumental in the development of investment products in Botswana for multiple investment institutions, signifying her dedication to fostering a strong savings culture in Botswana. Motsile Sibanda, an independent member of the Kgori Capital board, expressed confidence in Noor’s abilities to spearhead Kgori Capital. “We are confident that under the leadership of Noor and the dedication of our talented team, Kgori will continue to deliver exceptional results and maintain its position as a trusted investment partner. We extend our gratitude to our stakeholders for their continued partnership, and we look forward to mutually beneficial partnerships and relationships with all of our stakeholders.”
