NIGERIA: On 11 September, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) lifted the visa ban on Nigerians. The move follows President Tinubu’s visit to the UAE, where he reached an agreement with his counterpart, President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to a statement from the meeting, Etihad and Emirates Airlines are to resume flights into and out of Nigeria immediately. Other key takeaways from the meeting were that a framework has been agreed on that will involve billions of US dollars worth of new investments into the Nigerian economy across multiple sectors, while details of a new foreign exchange liquidity management programme between Nigeria and the UAE will be announced in the next few weeks.
