PALAPYE – In its continued efforts to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, Stanbic Bank Botswana has once again sponsored the recently held Morupule General Manager’s Cycle Challenge 2022 to the value of P311,000.00. This is yet another means through which the Bank says it reaffirms its dedication to supporting initiatives that improve the lives of Batswana, whilst at once promoting healthy lifestyles through fitness activities, and championing the benefits and growth of the cycling discipline.
The GM’s Cycle Challenge was held on the 4th of September in Palapye. The main purpose of the cycle challenge is to raise funds for various charitable works to provide assistance to some members of society. Over the past years, this initiative has made positive impacts on various communities by donating to Sekgoma Memorial Museum, Sehunou Primary School, Ratsie Setlhako Primary School, Palapye Junior Secondary and many others.
“As a financial partner, Stanbic Bank Botswana Head of Business Commercial Clients (BCC), Calistas Chijoro says the bank is dedicated to the unrelenting pursuit of its objective, which is to encourage both financial and healthy ways of living. “This is our combined effort to honour the resilience of our stakeholders, partners, and families, and to convey the message that we care. This partnership stands for so many of the important principles central to our very culture as a business and indeed as Batswana – tomagano, botho, community and support. We are firm believers in building relationships and unlocking infinite possibilities through collaborations such as these.”
The Bank continues to participate in and provide support for initiatives such as this one, and this follows recent participation in the Y-Care Makgadikgadi Night Walk and Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines General Manager’s Annual Charity Walk in Orapa.
Said Morupule Coal Mine General Manager, Edwin Elias, “This is one of the initiatives that we have adopted to promote healthy living in the communities that we operate in. Therefore, the Morupule GM Cycle Challenge has been ongoing for the past 13 years. Through it, we have had the opportunity to participate in community walks and cycles, in addition to leading healthier and more active lifestyles. We are grateful for these kinds of partnerships, and we have for the past years been able to give back to the communities in and around Palapye.”
Stanbic Bank says it continues to invest in the wellness of communities in an effort to promote and support healthy living. This includes raising funds to improve the lives of Batswana in order to reduce non-communicable diseases.
