Zimbabwe: President Emmerson Mnangagwa won another five-year term in the elections held last week.
According to the constitution, this will be his final term in office. International observers have questioned the electoral process, with the main opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa, rejecting the outcome and calling it a “sham”. Results from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission revealed that Mnangagwa won 52.6 percent of the vote, while Chamisa garnered 44.0 percent. There were 6.6 million registered voters and 68.9 percent cast ballots. (Bloomberg)
