The Citizen Entrepreneurship Development Agency (CEDA) has come on board as a sponsor of the inaugural Beyond 40: Stride by Stride Walk, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to the well-being, productivity and development of Botswana’s citizens.
The national wellness initiative, organised by TM Media Consultancy, will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Three Dikgosi Monument in Gaborone.
CEDA’s sponsorship of the Beyond 40 Walk reflects the Agency’s recognition that the development of a resilient and productive citizenry extends beyond economic empowerment to include the overall well-being of individuals and communities.
As an organisation mandated to promote citizen entrepreneurship and enterprise development, CEDA recognisesthe important role that healthy, active and economically engaged citizens play in contributing to sustainable economic growth and national development.
The Agency’s support of the Beyond 40 Walk is therefore aligned with its broader commitment to initiatives that empower citizens, strengthen communities and create an environment in which Batswana can participate meaningfully in the country’s socio-economic development.
The Beyond 40 Walk is targeted at adults aged 40 years and above and seeks to encourage regular physical activity, healthy living and preventive healthcare while promoting community engagement and active ageing.
The organisers welcomed CEDA’s sponsorship, describing it as an important partnership that strengthens the event’s objective of promoting healthier and more productive communities.
“CEDA’s decision to support the Beyond 40 Walk is a strong endorsement of the connection between citizen well-being and national development. We are particularly encouraged by CEDA’s recognition that empowered citizens must also be healthy, active and productive members of their communities,” the organisers said.
The organisers said the partnership also demonstrates the value of collaboration between the private sector, public institutions and community-focused organisations in advancing initiatives with a positive social impact. CEDA joins a growing number of organisations supporting the inaugural walk.
Registration for the Beyond 40: Stride by Stride Walk is ongoing, with participants able to choose from 2.5 km, 5 km or 10 km distances according to their fitness level and preference.
Walkers may register for P120, which includes a walk bib, hydration, a finisher’s medal and participation in any of the three distances. Those opting for the P250 package will receive all of the above, together with an official event T-shirt.
The walk will be led by the Chief Walker, the Minister for State President, Defence and Security, Honourable Moeti Mohwasa. Held under the theme “Every Step Towards Health and Wellness,” the Beyond 40: Stride by Stride Walk seeks to encourage adults aged 40 years and above to embrace regular physical activity, healthy living and preventive healthcare while fostering community engagement and active ageing.
