Retail giant Choppies Enterprises Limited has warned investors that profit from continuing operations could fall by more than a third for the six months ended December 2025.
The company cited multiple pressures, including a weakening Pula against the South African rand, reduced consumer spending linked to the diamond sector, the financial impact of exiting Zimbabwe, and the cost of a new living wage that raised minimum pay for thousands of workers to P4,000 a month.
