President Duma Boko is expected to officiate as guest speaker at the launch of the Franchise Crop Production Academy in Pitsane, Good Hope District, from November 27 to 29, 2026.
The academy is an initiative of Tsela Yagwe Network, a Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA)-recognised training consultancy, aimed at equipping people who have inherited agricultural land but lack the technical skills and financial resources to develop it into productive farming enterprises.
Tsela Yagwe Network Managing Director Lucky Modikoane said the programme had been designed as an investment opportunity that could qualify for listing on the stock market through Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and bonds. The proposed model seeks to attract impact investors to finance the development of the academy’s infrastructure and the training of commodity managers over an initial four-month period.
Under the proposed arrangement, 20 commodity management applicants would be allocated to every 4.8 hectares of land, with each participant receiving a monthly allowance of P2,500 for four months. Participants would manage crops from planting through to generating returns on investment, demonstrating the viability of the agricultural investment model.
The launch is expected to bring together traditional leaders, dignitaries and senior officials from public and private sector institutions, with President Boko set to officiate as the guest speaker.
