Stan Mittelman, VivoEnergy Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Botswana following high-level engagements with Vice President and Minister of Finance, Honourable Ndaba Gaolathe, and Minister of Minerals and Energy, Honourable Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, during his recent visit to the country.
The meetings formed part of Vivo Energy Group’s continued engagement with key government stakeholders to strengthen collaboration on Botswana’s economic and energy priorities. Discussions focused on opportunities to deepen public-private partnerships, strengthen energy security, enhance investment in critical energy infrastructure and support the country’s long-term development agenda.
The engagements also explored strategic areas of cooperation that will now progress into implementation as Vivo Energy Botswana, the company that distributes and market Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, and the Government continue working together to unlock sustainable growth opportunities within the energy sector.
Botswana remains an important market for the Group, with Vivo Energy Botswana continuing to play a leading role in ensuring reliable fuel supply, supporting economic activity and investing in infrastructure that underpins national development.
Mittelman said the engagements reflected a shared commitment between government and industry to build resilient energy systems capable of supporting the economic transformation.
“Energy is fundamental to economic growth. At Vivo Energy, we remain committed to investing in infrastructure, innovation and partnerships that strengthen energy security while creating long-term value for Botswana, its businesses and its communities.”
Vivo Energy Botswana has established itself as one of the country’s leading energy companies, supplying quality fuels and lubricants while continually investing in customer experience, operational excellence and infrastructure development. Mittelman said the Group views Botswana as a market with significant long-term potential and remains committed to supporting the country’s development ambitions through strategic investment and collaboration.
“We see ourselves not only as an energy supplier but also as a long-term partner in Botswana’s development journey. The strength of our relationships with the Government gives us confidence that together, we can deliver sustainable solutions that benefit the today’s economy and create opportunities for future generations.”
