In a need to make education more simplified and accessible through digitalisation, Mellissa Tafa co-founded Conexus. The company develops educational software to provide interactive learning materials at primary school and junior secondary school levels and has since collaborated with Orange Botswana to introduce Atlega, a mobile app that allows students to access information for preparatory tests in selected subjects like maths and science from their mobile phones. Q: Congratulations on your ABH nomination. How did it come about?ย ย
A:ย The African Business Hero competition by the Jack Ma Foundation is an entrepreneurial prize competition that seeks to find founders and co-founders of companies that are making a great impact on the African continent. Applicants should be citizens of African origin with companies that primarily operate in Africa. Their business should have been in operation for a minimum of three years and should have generated revenue for at least three years.
Q:ย Take us through the nomination process.
A: To complete the application, applicants are required to be honest and to demonstrate their answers by providing evidence-based examples and details while at the same time being clear and concise. Throughout the process, applicants are encouraged to make their submissions well ahead of the deadline.
