It is said that the true measure of a society is found in how it treats its most vulnerable members. This statement by Mahatma Gandhi rings much louder today in a time when there are multitudes of vulnerable groups emerging across the world at the hands of those in power.
When the seat of power still remains occupied by proponents of hetero-patriarchy – a system designed to place heterosexual masculinity as the pinnacle of human achievement – this means questions about equity, equality and justice have a clear primary direction.
