Up to 235mm of ground clearance equips the new PEUGEOT LANDTREK with all the necessary assets of the Double Cab market, be it two- or four-wheel drive.
For 4×4 versions, the rear differential is equipped with a mechanical rear differential lock providing extra traction when one wheel slips. The Borg-Warner Transfer case allows for easy transfer between 2-high, 4-high and 4-low modes with the simple turn of the rotary switch, allowing users to be at ease anywhere and in any weather, thanks to its crossing capabilities such as:
- fording: 600 mm,
- an approach angle of 29° or 30° (depending on version),
- departure angles of 27° or 26° (depending on version),
- break-over angles of 25° and
- a ground clearance of up to 235 mm (17”/18” wheels).
The PEUGEOT LANDTREK officially went on sale in South Africa from the 9th November 2021 and at the time of going to print; Peugeot Gaborone was expecting the first units to have arrived before the end of this week.
THE MAKING OF THE LANDTREK
The PEUGEOT brand worked closely with the best international suppliers from Europe, Japan, and the USA, amongst others, to design this vehicle. As a result, LANDTREK targets the best standards on the market. More than two million test kilometers were covered, across all terrains and in all conditions, particularly on African roads: the teams at the Africa Technical Center made a major contribution to the test and development programme, confirming the robustness and adaptation of the new PEUGEOT LANDTREK to the uses and needs of customers in the Middle East and Africa region.

PEUGEOT RECEIVES A CAR DESIGN AWARD FOR ITS OVERALL DESIGN
The “Car Design Award”, established in 1984 on the initiative of Auto&Design magazine, honors this year the PEUGEOT brand in the “Brand Design Language” category for its transversal stylistic language, which is expressed throughout its product range.
According to the jury, “the new PEUGEOT range shows the brand evolving in terms of sportiness and refinement, adding provocatively strong lines that remain consistent with the brand’s historical roots”.
Matthias HOSSANN, Director of PEUGEOT Design, was very pleased to receive the award, an important international recognition that is associated with the great commercial success of the most recent products of the PEUGEOT brand.
The 2021 edition of the “Car Design” award goes to PEUGEOT for its latest creations. Created in 1984 on the initiative of Mr. Fulvio CINTI, founder and director of the world-renowned Auto&Design magazine, this prestigious prize rewards projects that make a significant contribution to the evolution of automotive design.
It is awarded by a jury of 12 experts, all journalists from leading international automotive publications, for an objective assessment of global automotive design.
The award ceremony took place on November 30th, via streaming, from the National Automobile Museum of Turin. Of the three award categories (“Production Car”, “Concept Car” and “Brand Design Language”), 10 finalists were evaluated and the trophy went to PEUGEOT in the “Brand Design Language” section.
The category “Brand Design Language” considers the brand design, the way in which a brand expresses its codes and values through a coherent and attractive product range.
This award follows the one received by the new PEUGEOT 2008 in 2019, in the “Production Car” category. It confirms the consistency with which PEUGEOT is evolving in terms of dynamism and upmarket positioning, working on bold and strong lines, consistent with the historical roots of a brand born in 1810.
A GUIDE TO HELPING YOUR VEHICLE’S WHEELS SAVES YOU MONEY ON FUEL.
The tyres on your vehicle, the way you maintain them, and your driving behavior all play a significant role in the amount of fuel your vehicle consumes. This impacts the amount of money you need to spend to fill up. This is according to Tiger wheel & Tyre.
It’s been that way since John Dunlop invented the pneumatic tyre, or rubber tubes filled with air, in the late 1880s. And while petrol prices in his day may seem ridiculously low by our standards, the principle remains that the more fuel your engine uses to keep your vehicle’s tyres moving, the more money you’re obliged to spend.
And one thing where we and Mr. Dunlop agree, is that every cent, or in his case, every penny, counts. Tiger Wheel & Tyre has put together a list of the things you can do to help the performance of your tyres keep fuel costs down.
- KEEP YOUR ROLLING RESISTANCE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE
You want the minimum amount of rubber in contact with the tar, because the more contact you have, the more fuel it takes to keep your tyres rolling.
So, keep your tyres inflated to your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. You’ll find that info on the driver’s side door jamb, or in your vehicle’s manual.
Don’t go by the tyre pressure printed on the tyre itself. This is a maximum tyre pressure, and not optimized for your particular vehicle. Over-inflation can cause uneven tyre wear. And inflate them when they are cool, as this is a more accurate measure of tyre pressure.
- KEEP YOUR TYRES STANDARD SIZE
Vehicle makers are obliged, by law and customer demand, to keep emissions and fuel consumption as low as they can. So stay with the optimized OEM tyre size. Remember, a bigger tyre, more aggressive tyre pattern, or lower sidewall profile means extra weight and more engine effort to keep them turning.
- OTHER THINGS ONE CAN DO TO KEEP YOUR TYRES RUNNING OPTIMALLY.
Rotate your wheels and check their balance every 10,000 kilometres to even your vehicle’s load.
- INFLATE WITH NITROGEN
Filling tyres with nitrogen, rather than air, maintains optimum tyre pressure.
- INSIST ON PREMIUM BRAND TYRES
Yes, they may cost more initially, but their superior quality will keep fuel costs down, as well as lessen the need to replace them often.
- THE WAY YOU DRIVE AFFECTS YOUR TYRE’S ABILITY TO SAVE YOU MONEY ON FUEL
Hard acceleration or deceleration, or cornering too fast, gives tyres less traction, which means engine power, fuel, and your money is wasted.
