BURS To Go After Tax Defaulters

• Has devised a strategy to ensure a collection target of P60.4bn
• Had collected 56% of target (P32.9bn) by the end of September
• Filing season for returns extended to 31 December
• Mamuno to become a one-stop service border post

Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) has devised a revenue mobilisation strategy to enhance maximum collection as it strives to meet a target of P60.4 billion in tax collections.

According to Commissioner General Jeanette Makgolo, focus areas of the strategy include collection of outstanding returns and overdue payments across all types of tax, mainly Value Added Tax (VAT) and Pay as You Earn (PAYE).
