Emergency Assist 991, the leading emergency medical services provider, has identified tourism as one of the sectors in which they need to play a meaningful role. This explains why the company is one of the sponsors of this yearโs Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB) conference, which took place on Friday in Maun.
The conference, hosted annually and predominantly attended by players in the tourism and hospitality industries, is the target audience for EA.ย
“In 2022, we launched a 5-year strategy, with one of the priorities being the expansion of products and services through partnerships. We identified the tourism sector as one where we need to play a meaningful role. In the interim, we are looking at offering products and services to all tourism industry players. Part of the long-term strategy is to operate in the tourism industry and offer services to our membership as a way of creating additional value for them,” stated Chiseki Chiseki, General Manager of EA.
He informed this publication that EA offers a range of tailor-made products targeting the tourism sector. The company, celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, provides pre-hospital emergency services solutions, including both ground and air evacuation across the country. These services are available 24/7 and can be accessed through our call center. “This service is available to both local and international tourists,” he emphasised.
Chiseki emphasized that by sponsoring the HATAB conference, the company gains access to a platform where they can engage with policymakers, tourism operators, and key stakeholders to discuss issues that can accelerate the tourism industry. “We will also seek to cultivate valuable partnerships, explore strategic alliances, and uncover new business opportunities in line with our strategy,” he stated. He added that the sponsorship provides an opportunity for EA991 to increase brand awareness and make a lasting impact within the tourism industry. Moreover, they aim to build a long-term legacy with HATAB, representing the interests of various industry players such as hotels, lodges, camp operators, and charter airlines, among others.
On another note, EA, which is affiliated with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), has recently signed up for a global loyalty program called One Road. “One of the key objectives of One Road is to promote global travel and tourism. Through the One Road program, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting our country. Our role in the tourism industry is twofold: we provide services to the industry, and through One Road, we bring tourists to Botswana,” he concluded.
