The CEO of Botswana’s Gambling Authority has been named among the inaugural “Top 50 Most Influential Men in Gaming, Africa 2024,” by Women in Gaming Africa in partnership with iGaming AFRIKA.
Women in Gaming Africa is a platform dedicated to empowering and connecting accomplished women in the African gaming industry. It aims to provide networking, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities for women at all stages of their careers, whether they are seasoned professionals, rising stars, or passionate enthusiasts.
iGaming AFRIKA, a media platform, focuses on informing stakeholders in Africa’s internet gaming industry about betting-related news, trends, opinion pieces, interviews, and podcasts.
As part of its commitment to fostering diversity, innovation, and collaboration within Africa’s gaming industry, Women in Gaming Africa, in partnership with iGaming AFRIKA, unveiled its first-ever “Top 50 Most Influential Men in Gaming” list for 2024.
According to Women in Gaming Africa, this initiative celebrates visionary leaders, game-changers, and advocates shaping the industry across the continent.
“Our distinguished panel of 13 anonymous judges, representing expertise across the gaming and tech sectors in Africa and beyond, reviewed over 250 nominees. Each judge assessed candidates based on impact, influence, innovation, and dedication to advancing the industry,” said Women in Gaming Africa.
Kesitilwe is the CEO of the Gambling Authority in Botswana, a state entity responsible for regulating all gambling activities under the Gambling Act of 2012.
In response to the honor, Kesitilwe commented, “I am excited to be named among Africa’s most influential men in the gaming industry. This recognition reflects the efforts of the Gambling Authority team in developing the industry as an economic sector while prioritising responsible gaming.”
As CEO, Kesitilwe provides strategic leadership to support Botswana’s economic growth through targeted initiatives within the gambling sector. His approach aligns with the objectives of the Botswana Gambling Authority and the nation’s broader economic policies. He is committed to enhancing stakeholder engagement, driving effective strategy implementation, and ensuring the organization’s peak performance.
One of his notable achievements is the launch of the Responsible Gambling Self-Help Portal, a pioneering resource that provides accessible support for responsible gambling. Kesitilwe previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Botswana Gambling Authority and is a Chartered Accountant by profession.
