FNBB is this year commemorating the 28th edition of this event which accentuates the Bank as a thought leader in the financial industry.
The event will have two sessions; a morning session (from 0800hr-1200hrs) tailor made for SME and the traditional evening session (from 1730hs-0830hrs) where captains of industries converge for a night of unpacking the National Budget and networking.
“Due to the challenges that have been presented by the pandemic, this year’s Budget Review aims at discussing opportunities that will provide sustainable growth and prosperity,” highlighted FNBB CEO Steven Lefentse Bogatsu.
The Budget Review Seminar will have esteemed thought leaders who will speak on topics such as Diversifying the agriculture offering – Reinventing Selebi Phikwe as an agriculture hub , Value addition through manufacturing – Lessons, potential and market for pharmaceuticals manufacturing in Botswana and the region , Developing private sector links – Debswana CEEP development programme and benefits of the partnerships for economic growth and insights under The road ahead – Economic diversification & sustainable development.
This year, it has been observed that prudent fiscal management will be required to reverse the economic disruption that has been caused, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, FNBB has noted that the private sector has a key role to play, as economic agents and contributors to the national economic discourse, hence the necessity of the annual Budget Review – to allow sharing of ideas as well as the implementation of plans.
Included as part of the programme will be a panel discussion with the Bank’s key experts from the Legal, Risk, and Marketing departments addressing SME as well as Speed Mentoring where SME will have one on one sessions with the Bank’s experts. FNBB looks forward to hosting the ever-anticipated Budget Review and aiding in the re-building of our local economy.
