Huawei Botswana on Wednesday launched the HUAWEI nova 15 Max in Gaborone, adding a new smartphone to its consumer device portfolio in Botswana as the company continues to expand its presence in the local market.
The launch comes at a time when demand for smartphones with longer battery life, durable design and improved performance continues to grow among consumers. Huawei says the nova 15 Max was developed to respond to everyday user needs including communication, entertainment, content creation and productivity.
Speaking during the launch, country manager, Frank Qi said Botswana remains an important market for Huawei, adding that the company continues to see demand for devices that combine innovation with practical use.
He said the launch of the nova 15 Max also reflects Huawei’s continued collaboration with Cell City, which remains one of the company’s key retail partners in Botswana. According to Huawei, the partnership is aimed at improving access to authentic Huawei products and customer support services across the country.
The device is equipped with an 8500mAh battery supported by Huawei’s Energy Booster technology. Huawei says the battery is designed to support extended daily usage including video streaming, entertainment and work-related tasks. The smartphone also supports reverse charging, allowing users to charge other compatible devices directly from the handset.
In terms of durability, the HUAWEI nova 15 Max features IP65-rated dust and water resistance as well as SGS five-star drop resistance certification. Huawei says the design is intended to support users in different environments including travel and outdoor use.
For photography, the smartphone includes a 50MP rear camera system and an 8MP front camera, supported by AI-powered imaging features aimed at improving portrait photography and low-light image quality. The device also includes a 6.84-inch OLED display with eye comfort technology intended to reduce eye strain during extended use.
Huawei says the smartphone is powered by Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery, which provide access to applications, cloud services and device connectivity features within the Huawei ecosystem.
